Special Collections

Special Collections
Collections outside of journalism. These include Thomas Merton, Robert Lax and Congressman James T. Walsh.  They range from science fiction to banjo music. They also include local material such as this from the Concerned Citizens of Cattaraugus County related to the Farmersville Landfill proposal and a new site related to the Salamanca lease negotiations. When the Washington Theological Union closed its doors their archival collection was transferred to SBU.

A recent addition is a site devoted to local poet Thomas Krampf.

The archives has a collection of American Civil War material, including one of the premier Civil War regimental collections, that of the 154th New York Volunteer Infantry. We added a collection of letters from Adrian Fay, a member of the 105th in 2017.

A collection for alumni and WWII chaplain Fr. Ralph A. Antonucci.

The Le Ray de Chaumont Correspondence includes letters between Chaumont and luminaries from the American War of Independence period.

Journalism

Housed in the Jim Bishop Room, these deal with newspaper and television journalism, journalism education, popular history and comics.

Artifacts
Political buttons, St. Bonaventure memorabilia, autographs and many other items can be found in the collection.  We just have a sample here.
